The panel runs at a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion, though it does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision. There is no Always-On Display functionality, no secondary screen, and the glass does not carry any branded damage-resistant certification.

The Poco M6 4G is driven by the MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra, a 12 nm octa-core chipset configured with 2 cores at 2 GHz and 6 cores at 1.8 GHz across 8 threads, using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support and a TDP of 5W. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM running at 1800 MHz across 2 memory channels with a maximum bandwidth of 13.41 GB/s, and 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G52 MC2 GPU, clocked at 850 MHz with a turbo ceiling of 1000 MHz, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0. The rear camera supports a broad set of manual controls including exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, as well as HDR mode, burst shooting, slow-motion video, and in-camera panoramas, but it does not shoot in RAW format and lacks manual shutter speed control. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30 fps, with no HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording support. A single LED flash is fitted at the rear — not dual-tone or RGB — and there is no optical zoom or optical image stabilization. Users can also take advantage of on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, and device position tracking. Games can be played while they are still downloading, and a child lock is included for parental control. Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, app offloading, Quick Start, and the ability to use the device as a PC are not supported, and OS updates do not come directly from the vendor.

The Poco M6 4G is equipped with a 5030 mAh non-removable rechargeable battery that supports 33W wired fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present, making it easy to monitor remaining charge at a glance. Wireless charging is not supported, and the battery cannot be removed by the user.

The Poco M6 4G includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack for wired listening and a built-in radio, though it is fitted with a single speaker rather than a stereo setup. For wireless audio, the device supports both aptX and LDAC codecs, enabling higher-quality Bluetooth audio transmission, while aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless are not available.

On the security and biometrics front, a fingerprint scanner is built in, while 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, and a stylus are all absent. Location capabilities cover GPS with Galileo support, a compass, and an accelerometer, but there is no gyroscope, barometer, heart rate monitor, or motion and optical tracking. The device lacks DLNA certification, an HDMI output, ANT+ support, a built-in projector, crash detection, and emergency SOS via satellite.

The Poco M6 4G features a video light for illumination during video recording, while the display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor e-paper technology.
