It carries an IP53 ingress protection rating, meaning it offers a degree of water resistance against light splashing, though it is not built to a rugged standard and does not feature a reinforced or hardened construction.

The Poco M6 Plus 5G features a 6.79″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a 1080 x 2460 px resolution and a pixel density of 396 ppi, delivering a sharp and detailed image across its large panel. The display runs at a 120Hz refresh rate for fluid on-screen motion, and is protected by branded damage-resistant glass. However, it does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, lacks an Always-On Display mode, and there is no secondary screen present.

The Poco M6 Plus 5G is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, fabricated on a 4nm process with a thermal design power of 4W, featuring an octa-core CPU across 8 threads arranged in a big.LITTLE configuration running at 2 x 2.3 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz, alongside an integrated Adreno 613 GPU clocked at 955 MHz with support for up to two displays. The SoC includes integrated LTE and integrated graphics, and is capable of DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The device comes with 8GB of DDR5 RAM at 3200 MHz — expandable up to a maximum of 16GB — and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, while the 64-bit architecture and ARM TrustZone support round out the platform's core capabilities.

The Poco M6 Plus 5G features a dual-lens rear camera system led by a 108MP primary CMOS sensor paired with a 2MP secondary lens, capable of recording video at 1080p and 30 fps with continuous autofocus during recording and slow-motion support; there is no optical image stabilization, no optical zoom, and no back-illuminated sensor, while the flash setup consists of a single LED unit without dual-tone or RGB capability. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, and the camera also supports phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, burst mode, HDR, timelapse, and in-camera panoramas, though 360° panorama shooting, raw capture, manual shutter speed, and HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording are not available. Privacy features are fairly broad, covering location controls, camera and microphone access management, clipboard warnings, and app tracking blocking, though cross-site tracking protection and Mail Privacy Protection are not included; Wi-Fi password sharing and Quick Start are also absent. On the customization side, the OS offers dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, customizable notifications, and an extra dim mode, while practical tools such as full-page screenshots, Live Text, a media picker, battery health check, offline voice recognition, voice commands, device tracking, and on-device machine learning are all supported. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not available, and the device cannot function as a PC nor offload unused apps, and focus modes are not present.

The Poco M6 Plus 5G is equipped with a 5030 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 33W wired fast charging, allowing for quicker top-ups compared to standard charging rates. A battery level indicator is present, giving users a clear read of remaining charge at a glance. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The Poco M6 Plus 5G includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, offering a wired audio connection for headphones and earphones. However, the device does not feature stereo speakers, and on the wireless audio side, it lacks support for aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC, meaning high-resolution or enhanced Bluetooth audio codecs are not available. There is also no built-in radio tuner.

The Poco M6 Plus 5G supports 5G cellular connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), and accommodates two SIM cards simultaneously. Bluetooth 5.3 and a USB Type-C port handle wireless pairing and wired connections respectively, while an external memory slot allows for storage expansion. For navigation and location, the device includes GPS with Galileo support and a compass, and an accelerometer is present among the onboard sensors; however, a gyroscope, barometer, infrared sensor, and heart rate monitor are all absent. Security is handled via a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not supported. NFC, DLNA, ANT+, HDMI output, satellite SOS, crash detection, motion and optical tracking, a built-in projector, and a stylus are likewise not included.

The Poco M6 Plus 5G includes a video light, which can be used to illuminate subjects during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, and neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel is used in its construction.
