The device does not feature a rugged build, so it is not designed to withstand harsh physical conditions beyond basic water resistance.

The Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G features a 6.88″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1640 px at 260 ppi, delivering a 120Hz refresh rate backed by a 240Hz touch sampling rate for responsive input. Typical brightness is rated at 450 nits, and the display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, Always-On Display functionality, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision. There is no secondary screen, and the device relies solely on its main panel.

The Redmi A4 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, a 4 nm chipset running a big.LITTLE CPU configuration with two cores at 2 GHz and six efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz, paired with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz. It offers 128 GB of internal storage and supports external memory expansion up to 1024 GB. The SoC integrates LTE, a GPU with OpenGL ES 3.2 and OpenCL 2 support, and ARM TrustZone for hardware-level security, while also being fully 64-bit compatible.

The main camera is a single-lens 50 MP CMOS sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, though it lacks optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and a back-illuminated sensor. Video capture tops out at 1080p at 30 fps, with support for slow-motion recording but no HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, while shooting modes include HDR, burst, panorama, and timelapse; raw capture and manual shutter speed are not available.
