The Xiaomi Xming Q5 Neo has a physical footprint of 186 × 113 × 161.5 mm and a total volume of approximately 3394 cm³, with a weight of 1400 g that keeps it relatively portable for a home projector. It does not use a laser light source, relying instead on a conventional lamp. In terms of power, the unit consumes 80 W during normal operation and drops to a notably efficient 0.5 W in standby mode.
The projector outputs at a native 1080p resolution and can scale up to a maximum projection size of 150″, with a brightness rating of 240 ANSI lumens. It does not support 3D content with glasses, and HDR formats are not covered — there is no support for HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, or HLG.
Wireless connectivity is well covered, with support for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) alongside Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 4, and Bluetooth 5.3 for peripheral pairing. Streaming options include AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, and Miracast, and the unit also holds DLNA certification. On the wired side, there is a USB 2.0 port and an S/PDIF output for digital audio, while VGA, DVI connectors, and an RJ45 ethernet port are absent.
The projector includes built-in smart TV functionality and supports voice commands, making it operable without relying solely on the bundled remote control. A sleep timer is also on board for scheduled shutoff. Audio output is limited to a 3.5 mm headphone jack — there is no built-in speaker, stereo or otherwise. Lens adjustment options are not available, as neither vertical nor horizontal lens shift is supported, and there is no external memory slot for local storage expansion.
