ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G

The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G has a non-folding, non-rugged form factor measuring 163.6 mm tall, 76 mm wide, and 9.1 mm thick, with a total volume of approximately 113.15 cm³. One of its notable design attributes is its IP68-rated water resistance, classifying it as waterproof under standard submersion conditions.

The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G features a 6.78″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1260 x 2800 px and a pixel density of 453 ppi, producing sharp and detailed imagery. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate for fluid on-screen motion, along with HDR10 content and an Always-On Display mode. The screen does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and there is no secondary screen, HDR10+ support, or Dolby Vision compatibility.

The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a 4nm chipset with an 8-thread CPU configuration using big.LITTLE technology, a base cluster arrangement of 1 x 3.2, 4 x 2.8, and 3 x 2 GHz cores, and a turbo clock speed of 3.36GHz, achieving a Geekbench 6 single-core score of 2027. It is paired with 16GB of DDR5 RAM running at 4200 MHz, a maximum memory bandwidth of 64 GB/s, and 1024GB of internal storage, while the Adreno 740 GPU operates at 970 MHz with 768 shading units, 3 execution units, and support for DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.3, OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2, and OpenVG 1.2. The chipset also includes integrated LTE, integrated graphics, TrustZone security, multithreading support, a 6.3W TDP, 1MB of L2 cache, 8MB of L3 cache, and eMMC 5.1, with the platform supporting a single display output and a maximum memory capacity of 16GB.

The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G features a triple rear camera system with sensors rated at 50MP, 50MP, and 5MP, built on a CMOS platform with optical image stabilization and 3x optical zoom. Focusing options are comprehensive, covering phase-detection autofocus, laser autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, while manual controls extend to exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available. The main camera records video at up to 4320 x 30fps and also supports slow-motion recording, HDR mode, burst mode, panorama, and timelapse, but does not shoot in RAW format, does not record HDR10 or Dolby Vision video, and lacks 3D or 360-degree panorama capabilities. A single LED flash is present, with no dual-tone or RGB flash option. On the front, a 32MP single-lens camera with an f/2.5 aperture handles selfies, positioned in a standard location rather than under the display, and it operates without a dedicated flash or a multi-lens arrangement.

The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G runs Android 14, a free and open-source platform that supports multi-user accounts, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, a media picker, full-page scrolling screenshots, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. Privacy controls are broad, encompassing clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not included. Personalization features include theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while utility tools cover battery health checks, customizable notifications, notification permission controls, on-device machine learning, live text selection from images, offline voice recognition, voice commands, and device tracking. Focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, app offloading, Quick Start, and the ability to use the device as a PC are not supported, and OS updates are not delivered directly from the platform vendor.

The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 80W wired fast charging, with a charger included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status, though wireless charging is not supported.

The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G includes stereo speakers and supports aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive Bluetooth audio codecs, catering to a range of wireless audio quality levels. However, it does not support LDAC, aptX Lossless, or a built-in radio, and there is no 3.5mm headphone jack, making wireless or USB-C audio the primary listening options.

The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G supports 5G connectivity alongside a dual SIM configuration, Wi-Fi 4, 5, and 6, and Bluetooth 5.4, with download speeds reaching up to 10,000 Mbits/s and upload speeds of up to 3,000 Mbits/s. Wired connectivity is handled via USB Type-C at USB 2.0, and the device includes NFC, a fingerprint scanner, GPS with Galileo support, a compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, infrared sensor, and emergency SOS via satellite. There is no external memory slot, HDMI output, DLNA certification, barometer, heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, crash detection, 3D facial recognition, iris scanner, stylus, or built-in projector, and neither motion nor optical tracking is present.

The ZTE Axon 60 Ultra 5G includes a video light for illuminating footage during recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
