ZTE Nubia Flip 2

The ZTE Nubia Flip 2 features a foldable design that unfolds to a height of 170 mm and a width of 76 mm, with a thickness of 7.5 mm and a total volume of 96.9 cm³. It weighs 191 g, and while it does not have a rugged build, it carries an IPX2 ingress protection rating, meaning it offers a basic degree of water resistance in everyday conditions.

The main display is a 6.9″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1188 x 2790 px and a pixel density of 439 ppi, paired with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth on-screen motion. The device also includes a secondary screen with a resolution of 422 x 682 px for quick access to information without unfolding. Neither HDR10, HDR10+, nor Dolby Vision are supported, the Always-On Display mode is absent, and the panel does not feature branded damage-resistant glass.

The ZTE Nubia Flip 2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset, fabricated on a 4 nm process and configured with an octa-core CPU running at 4 x 2.5 GHz and 4 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE technology with HMP support across 8 threads. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 6400 MHz and 512GB of internal storage, with the platform supporting a maximum of 16GB of memory. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G615 MC2 GPU, which supports DirectX 12 and can drive up to two displays. The SoC includes integrated LTE, supports 64-bit processing, and the device achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score of 708,000.

The rear camera system is a dual-lens setup with 50 MP and 2 MP sensors, using a CMOS sensor and supporting phase-detection autofocus for photos, continuous autofocus during video, and touch autofocus. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available. Video recording reaches up to 4K at 30 fps, and additional shooting modes include slow-motion, burst, timelapse, panorama, and built-in HDR, while optical zoom, optical image stabilization, RAW capture, laser autofocus, 360° panorama, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D recording are not supported. A single LED flash is present, with no dual-tone or RGB flash option. The 32 MP front camera is a single-lens unit positioned conventionally — not under the display — and has no dedicated flash.

The device runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering location access, camera and microphone permissions, clipboard warnings, and app tracking blocking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. Customization options include dynamic theming, theme customization, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes and the ability to offload apps are absent. On the usability side, the OS supports split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, customizable notifications, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, live text selection from images, and the ability to play games while they download. It also features on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, multi-user support, child lock, battery health check, and phone tracking, though Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and direct OS vendor updates are not supported.

The ZTE Nubia Flip 2 houses a 4300 mAh rechargeable battery with a battery level indicator and support for 33W fast charging, with a charger included in the box. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The ZTE Nubia Flip 2 includes stereo speakers but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack and has no built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-quality Bluetooth codec options — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported.

The ZTE Nubia Flip 2 supports 5G connectivity and covers Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5, and Wi-Fi 6, alongside Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. SIM options consist of one physical SIM and one eSIM, and there is no external memory slot. Navigation is handled by GPS with Galileo support, and onboard sensors include a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass. A fingerprint scanner is present for biometric authentication, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not available. Features such as crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, ANT+, a heart rate monitor, a barometer, an infrared sensor, HDMI output, DLNA certification, a built-in projector, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a stylus are all absent.

The ZTE Nubia Flip 2 includes a video light to assist with recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved, does not use sapphire glass, and is not an e-paper panel.
