ZTE Nubia Focus 5G

The ZTE Nubia Focus 5G has a standard, non-folding form factor measuring 163.6 mm tall, 74.9 mm wide, and 8.6 mm thick, with a total volume of 105.38 cm³. It tips the scales at 205.5 g, which places it on the heavier side for a device of its size. The phone does not feature a rugged build and carries no water resistance rating, so it offers no certified protection against dust or moisture.

The ZTE Nubia Focus 5G features a 6.6″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1612 px and a pixel density of 267 ppi, delivering a reasonably sized canvas for everyday use. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which helps keep scrolling and interactions feeling fluid. It does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and there is no support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, nor does it offer an Always-On Display mode or a secondary screen.

The ZTE Nubia Focus 5G is powered by the Unisoc Tanggula T760 chipset, built on a 7 nm process with an octa-core CPU arranged in a big.LITTLE configuration running at 4 x 2.2 GHz and 4 x 1.8 GHz across 8 threads. It is paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz across two memory channels, supporting a maximum of 32GB, alongside 256GB of internal storage. The integrated Mali-G57 GPU runs at a turbo frequency of 650 MHz and supports DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, while the chipset also includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and 64-bit support. In benchmarks, the device scores 430,200 on AnTuTu and achieves Geekbench 5 results of 541 single-core and 2,155 multi-core; ECC memory is not supported.

The ZTE Nubia Focus 5G uses a single-lens rear camera setup with a 108 MP main sensor at f/1.8 aperture and a 2 MP secondary sensor at f/2.4, both using CMOS technology, though neither features a back-illuminated sensor or optical image stabilization. Video recording reaches up to 2160p at 30 fps, with support for slow-motion recording, while HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not available. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus as well as continuous autofocus during video, but laser autofocus is absent, and there is no optical zoom. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available, and the camera does not shoot RAW files. Additional shooting modes include burst, panorama, and timelapse, while 360° panorama and 3D capture are not supported. A single LED flash is present at the rear, but there is no dual-tone or RGB flash, and the front camera — which is a single-lens, standard placement unit — does not have its own flash.

The ZTE Nubia Focus 5G runs Android 14 and includes a solid range of privacy controls, covering location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, clipboard warnings, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. On the usability side, the OS supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, customizable notifications, notification permission controls, a media picker, full-page screenshots, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, a child lock, and an extra dim mode. It also offers on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, phone tracking, multi-user support, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. Battery health check is included, while Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, app offloading, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are not supported. OS updates do not come directly from the vendor, and the platform is noted as free and open source.

The ZTE Nubia Focus 5G is equipped with a 5000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 33W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present, making it easy to keep track of remaining charge. Wireless charging is not supported.

The ZTE Nubia Focus 5G includes stereo speakers for audio playback but does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, so wired headphones would require an adapter. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codecs are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent. There is no built-in radio either.

The ZTE Nubia Focus 5G supports 5G connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with Wi-Fi covering both Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). It features a USB Type-C port running at USB 2.0 speeds and includes NFC and a fingerprint scanner for payments and authentication. For navigation, GPS, Galileo, and a compass are all on board, and the sensor suite extends to a gyroscope and accelerometer, though a barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and motion or optical tracking are absent. The device does not support DLNA, ANT+, HDMI output, 3D facial recognition, or iris scanning, and neither a stylus nor a built-in projector is included. Safety features such as emergency SOS via satellite and crash detection are also not present.

The ZTE Nubia Focus 5G includes a video light to assist with recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
