ZTE Nubia Music 2

The ZTE Nubia Music 2 has a straightforward, conventional form factor — it does not fold and lacks a rugged build or any water resistance rating. It measures 163.6 mm tall, 74.9 mm wide, and 8.6 mm thick, with a total volume of approximately 105.38 cm³. The handset weighs 199 g, placing it in a moderately hefty range for a device of its size.

The ZTE Nubia Music 2 uses an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 6.6″, delivering a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels at a pixel density of 267 ppi. The panel supports a 90 Hz refresh rate, which contributes to smoother on-screen motion during everyday use. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Always-On Display functionality. There is no secondary screen on this device.

The ZTE Nubia Music 2 is powered by the Unisoc T7200 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an 8-thread CPU running at 1.6 GHz across all cores, using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support and a 10W TDP. It is paired with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM at 1600 MHz and 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, with a maximum supported memory amount of 14 GB. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 MP1 GPU, clocked at 650 MHz with 64 shading units, one execution unit, support for DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, with integrated graphics and LTE on the SoC. Cache configuration includes 128 KB L1, 2 MB L2, and 1 MB L3, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 12.8 GB/s. Benchmark scores include an AnTuTu result of 154,110, Geekbench 6 multi-core of 1,391 and single-core of 371, Geekbench 5 multi-core of 1,175 and single-core of 313, a PassMark score of 2,663, and a single-core PassMark of 988. The chipset supports 64-bit processing and ARM TrustZone security.

The ZTE Nubia Music 2 features a single-lens 50 MP rear camera with a CMOS sensor, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, though it lacks laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, and a back-illuminated sensor. Video capture tops out at 1080p at 30 fps, with no support for HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording, while slow-motion video recording is available. There is no optical zoom, and the single LED flash is neither dual-tone nor RGB. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, but manual shutter speed is not available; additional shooting modes include HDR, burst, panorama, and timelapse, while RAW capture and 360° panorama are not supported. The device also includes a front-facing camera — single-lens, without a front flash and not positioned under the display — rounding out a capable but straightforward camera setup.

The ZTE Nubia Music 2 runs Android 14 and brings a solid set of privacy and usability features to the table. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though it does not support Mail Privacy Protection or cross-site tracking blocking. The interface supports theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and extra dim mode, while focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, and Quick Start are absent. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, customizable notifications, sharing intents, widgets, child lock, and multi-user support, along with the ability to play games while they download and text selection from images. The OS also includes on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, phone tracking, and a battery health check, but does not support app offloading, direct OS vendor updates, or use as a PC. The platform is free and open source.

The ZTE Nubia Music 2 is equipped with a 5000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports fast charging and includes a battery level indicator for convenient monitoring. The battery is non-removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The ZTE Nubia Music 2 covers the basics of audio output with stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, offering wired listening without the need for an adapter. There is no radio on the device, and none of the high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported.

The ZTE Nubia Music 2 operates on 4G cellular networks — there is no 5G support — and accommodates two SIM cards alongside Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). Wired connectivity is handled via a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0, and there is no HDMI output or DLNA certification. Download speeds reach up to 300 Mbit/s with upload speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. NFC is absent, and the device does not include an infrared sensor, ANT+ support, or a built-in projector. For navigation, it supports GPS, Galileo, and a compass, while onboard sensors include a gyroscope and accelerometer; a barometer, heart rate monitor, and motion or optical tracking are not present. Security options include a fingerprint scanner, but 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not available. The device does not come with a stylus, and features such as crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, and the ability to function as a PC peripheral are not supported.

The ZTE Nubia Music 2 includes a video light for use during video recording, but does not feature a sapphire glass display, a curved screen, or an e-paper display.
