The ASRock B860 Steel Legend WiFi is a single-socket ATX motherboard built around the LGA 1851 socket and B860 chipset, measuring 305 mm × 244 mm to fit standard full-size cases. It supports Wi-Fi across four generations — 802.11n, 802.11ac, 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6), and 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6E) — and pairs that with Bluetooth 5.3, though aptX audio codec support is not included. The board features HDMI 2.1 output, RGB lighting, and a dual BIOS setup for firmware redundancy, and while it does not offer an easy CMOS reset button, it does support overclocking. There is no integrated CPU or onboard graphics. The board carries a three-year warranty and does not have integrated graphics support.
The board supports DDR5 memory across four slots in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256 GB. Standard operation tops out at 5600 MHz, while overclocked profiles can push speeds up to 8666 MHz. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O panel offers a well-rounded USB lineup, including two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and three USB 2.0 ports, with no USB-C variants at the Gen 1 or Gen 2 level. At the high-speed end, there is one USB 4 40Gbps port and one Thunderbolt 4 port, both delivered via Type-C connectors; no USB 4 20Gbps or Thunderbolt 3 ports are present. Video output consists of an HDMI output and one DisplayPort, while VGA, DVI, and eSATA are absent. One RJ45 port handles wired networking, and there are no PS/2 ports on the board.
Internal connectivity is well provisioned, with four M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors for storage expansion, while SATA 2, mSATA, and U.2 are not available. USB expansion headers include four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port, and four USB 2.0 ports, all routed through onboard connectors for front-panel or add-in use. Cooling is supported by eight fan headers, and a TPM connector is present for hardware security module installation.
The board provides two physical x16 slots: one PCIe 5.0 x16 and one PCIe 4.0 x16, covering current and recent-generation add-in cards. There are no PCIe 3.0, 2.0, x8, x4, or x1 slots, and no legacy PCI slots are present, keeping the expansion layout focused and uncluttered.
The onboard audio supports 7.1-channel output and delivers a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB, with two analog audio connectors on the rear panel. An S/PDIF Out port is also included for digital audio passthrough to external receivers or DACs.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 (1+0) configurations, covering a range of performance and redundancy setups. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
