The device does not feature a rugged build, so its water resistance is provided solely through that IP68 certification rather than any reinforced construction.

The Huawei Nova 14 Ultra features a 6.81″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1272 x 2860 px and a pixel density of 460 ppi, backed by branded damage-resistant glass for added durability. The panel runs at a 120Hz refresh rate with a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and supports HDR10 along with an Always-On Display mode, though HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are not supported. There is no secondary screen, and the device does not support Dolby Vision recording or display.

The Huawei Nova 14 Ultra is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 8000 chipset, built on a 5 nm semiconductor process with a CPU configuration of 1 x 2.2 GHz, 3 x 1.5 GHz, and 4 x 2 GHz cores, leveraging big.LITTLE technology and multithreading for workload distribution across tasks. The SoC integrates LTE, a Maleoon 910 GPU clocked at 750 MHz, and integrated graphics, while carrying a thermal design power of 6W. The device comes with 12 GB of LPDDR4 RAM running at 2200 MHz — expandable up to a maximum of 16 GB — alongside 1024 GB of internal storage, and supports 64-bit processing throughout.

The Huawei Nova 14 Ultra features a triple-lens rear camera system with sensors rated at 50 MP (f/1.4), 50 MP (f/2.2), and 13 MP (f/2.2), supported by optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, along with 3.7x optical zoom and a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination. The main camera supports 4K video recording at 30 fps, slow-motion video, HDR mode, burst mode, timelapse, in-camera panoramas, and RAW capture, while manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, white balance, and shutter speed; 360° panorama, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D capture are not supported.
