Meizu Note 22 5G

The Meizu Note 22 5G has a non-folding, non-rugged form factor measuring 167.6 mm tall, 75.8 mm wide, and 9.2 mm thick, with a total volume of approximately 116.88 cm³ and a weight of 217 g. It carries an IP65 rating, classifying it as water resistant against low-pressure jets, though it does not meet the stricter immersion standards of higher IP grades. This level of protection adds a degree of durability for daily use without the added bulk of a purpose-built rugged device.

The Meizu Note 22 5G uses a 6.78″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 px and a pixel density of 396 ppi, producing a sharp and detailed image across its large panel. The display runs at a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a typical brightness of 1050 nits, with a contrast ratio of 5000:1. It does not feature an Always-On Display mode, branded damage-resistant glass, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen.

The Meizu Note 22 5G is powered by the Unisoc T8200 chipset, built on a 6 nm process and featuring a big.LITTLE CPU configuration of 2 cores at 2.3 GHz and 6 cores at 2.1 GHz, with integrated LTE and 64-bit support. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 MC2 GPU running at 850 MHz. The device comes with 12GB of LPDDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz and 256GB of internal storage, though the maximum supported memory amount is noted at 10GB.

The Meizu Note 22 5G features a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 50 MP sensor at f/2.4 and a 2 MP sensor at f/1.8, both using a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, as well as continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus is absent. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, panorama, slow-motion video, and timelapse are all supported; optical zoom, RAW capture, manual shutter speed, and HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording are not available. A single LED flash is present on the rear, with no dual-tone or RGB flash. On the front, an 8 MP single-lens camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies, with no front-facing flash, under-display placement, or secondary lens.

The Meizu Note 22 5G runs Android 15 and ships with a broad set of software capabilities covering both usability and privacy. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not included. Customization features include dynamic theming, theme customization, dark mode, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, and home screen widgets. The device supports split-screen multitasking, picture-in-picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, app offloading, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they download. It also includes on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, phone tracking, a child lock, multi-user support, and a battery health check. Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are not available, and OS updates are not delivered directly from the vendor.

The Meizu Note 22 5G is equipped with a 6600 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 40W wired fast charging, with a charger included in the box. A battery level indicator is present, giving users a clear read of remaining charge at a glance. Wireless charging is not supported.

The Meizu Note 22 5G includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers for versatile audio output. For wireless listening, it supports both aptX and aptX HD, enabling higher-quality Bluetooth audio transmission, while aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are not available.

The Meizu Note 22 5G supports 5G connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) for wireless networking. Bluetooth 5.0 is on board, and the device connects via a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0; there is no HDMI output and no external memory slot. Location is handled through GPS, Galileo, and a compass, while an accelerometer is also present — though a gyroscope, barometer, and motion or optical tracking are absent. Biometric security is covered by a fingerprint scanner, with no iris scanner or 3D facial recognition available. The device lacks an infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, DLNA certification, crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, a built-in projector, and a stylus.

The Meizu Note 22 5G includes a video light, making it usable for illuminated video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, uses no e-paper technology, and is not protected by sapphire glass.
