They carry an IPX4 rating, making them sweat resistant during physical activity. The earbuds support stereo playback and do not include wingtips, RGB lighting, a display, or a UV light.
The Moto Buds Bass feature a 12.4 mm driver unit and cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Both active noise cancellation and passive noise reduction are supported, helping to block out unwanted sound in different listening conditions. Dolby Atmos is included, while spatial audio and Dirac Virtuo are not supported. The earbuds do not use a neodymium magnet in their driver configuration.
The Moto Buds Bass offer 9 hours of battery life on a single charge, with the charging case extending the total to 34 hours. A full charge takes 1.5 hours, and the earbuds include a battery level indicator so users can monitor remaining power. The battery is rechargeable, though wireless charging and solar power are not supported.
The Moto Buds Bass connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 meters. In terms of audio codecs, both LDAC and AAC are supported, while aptX in all its variants (including aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and aptX Voice), LDHC, and Bluetooth LE Audio are not. The earbuds use USB-C for wired charging and do not support fast pairing, NFC pairing, or Auracast.

The earbuds do not offer in-ear detection for auto-pause, a find device feature, notification readout, a built-in translator, in-line controls, a temperature sensor, or a camera remote shutter function.
