The MSI MPG B860I Edge TI Wi-Fi uses an LGA 1851 socket paired with the B860 chipset and adopts the compact Mini-ITX form factor, measuring 170 × 170 mm. It supports a single CPU and does not include an integrated processor or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity spans Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) alongside Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX audio codec support is absent. The board features HDMI 2.1 output, RGB lighting, dual BIOS, and an easy CMOS reset mechanism, while overclocking is also supported. There is no integrated graphics capability, and the board carries a three-year warranty.
The board uses DDR5 memory across two slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, supporting up to 128 GB in total. Standard RAM speeds reach up to 6400 MHz, while overclocking can push that figure to 8600 MHz. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O includes a Thunderbolt 4 port and a USB 4 40Gbps port, both in Type-C form, along with one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. There is also one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, while USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 4 20Gbps, USB 2.0, and Thunderbolt 3 are absent. Video output is handled by a single HDMI port, with no DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA connectors present. Network connectivity is provided through one RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports.
For internal connectivity, the board provides two M.2 sockets and two SATA 3 connectors for storage, while SATA 2, mSATA, and U.2 are not available. Expansion headers include two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, and two USB 2.0 ports, all accessible through internal connectors. A TPM connector is present, and three fan headers are available for cooling management.
The board offers a single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot as its only expansion option. No PCIe 4.0, 3.0, 2.0, x8, x4, or x1 slots are present, and there are no legacy PCI slots — a layout that reflects the space constraints typical of the Mini-ITX form factor.
The board supports 7.1-channel audio output and includes an S/PDIF Out port for digital audio passthrough. Two analog audio connectors are available on the rear I/O for physical connections.
The board's RAID support is limited to RAID 0 and RAID 1, covering basic striping and mirroring configurations respectively. RAID 5, RAID 10, and RAID 0+1 are not supported.
