It runs at a 120Hz refresh rate with a 240Hz touch sampling rate for fluid on-screen interactions, and reaches a typical brightness of 1300 nits. The display supports both HDR10 and HDR10+ content and includes an Always-On Display mode, though it does not support Dolby Vision and lacks branded damage-resistant glass. There is no secondary screen on this device.

The OnePlus Nord CE5 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, built on a 4 nm process with an 8-thread CPU configuration running at speeds of 1 x 3.35, 3 x 3.2, and 4 x 2.2 GHz using big.LITTLE and HMP technologies. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G615 MC6 GPU clocked at 1400 MHz, with support for DirectX 12 and OpenCL 2. The OnePlus Nord CE5 uses a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 50 MP primary sensor at f/1.8 and an 8 MP lens at f/2.2, both using CMOS technology without a back-illuminated sensor. Optical image stabilization is built in, and autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus for photos, plus continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus is not available. The OnePlus Nord CE5 runs Android 15, an open-source platform that supports multi-user operation, device tracking, offline voice recognition, and voice commands. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy controls, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, widgets, customizable notifications, notification permission controls, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes are not included. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, Live Text, sharing intents, app offloading, the ability to play games while they download, and a child lock. Battery health monitoring is also on board, but Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and the ability to use the phone as a PC are not supported. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided on this device.

The OnePlus Nord CE5 is equipped with a 7100 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 80W wired fast charging, with a charger included in the box. A battery level indicator is present, but wireless charging is not supported on this device.

The OnePlus Nord CE5 includes two microphones and supports aptX, aptX HD, and LDAC for higher-quality Bluetooth audio transmission, though aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless are not available. The device does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, or a built-in radio.
