The OpenRock S2 feature an open-ear fit with wingtips included for added stability during wear, and the true wireless design means there are no cables or neckband to contend with. At just 14 g, the earbuds are notably light, and stereo speakers are built in for a two-channel listening experience. They carry an IPX5 rating, making them water resistant against splashes and sweat, though they do not include RGB lighting, a UV light, or any display.
The OpenRock S2 use 12 mm drivers and cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, spanning the full standard audible spectrum. Spatial audio is supported, adding a sense of dimensional depth to playback. The earbuds do not include active noise cancellation or passive noise isolation, and there is no Dolby Atmos, Dirac Virtuo, or neodymium magnet technology on board.
The OpenRock S2 offer 8 hours of battery life per charge, with the included charging case extending the total to 24 hours. A full charge takes 1.5 hours, and a battery level indicator lets you keep track of remaining power. The battery is rechargeable, though wireless charging and solar charging are not supported.
The OpenRock S2 connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 6 with a maximum range of 10 m, and support both LDAC and AAC codecs for audio transmission. Charging is handled through a USB Type-C port. The earbuds do not support fast pairing, NFC pairing, Auracast, or Bluetooth LE Audio, and none of the aptX codec variants — including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, or aptX Voice — are available. LDHC is likewise not supported.
The OpenRock S2 support multipoint connectivity for up to two devices simultaneously and can be used as a headset, with a mute function and voice prompts included. A control panel is placed on the device itself, though there is no in-line control panel. Fast charging is supported, and a find device feature helps locate misplaced earbuds. A travel bag is included in the box, and the earbuds come with a 2-year warranty. Features not present include ambient sound mode, in/on-ear detection, notification reading, a built-in translator, a body temperature sensor, and a camera remote shutter function.
The OpenRock S2 are equipped with a 4-microphone setup that includes noise cancellation, helping to reduce unwanted background sound during calls and voice use.
