The Philips Series 2300 EP2330 is a fully automatic coffee machine compatible with both ground coffee and whole beans, and it does not require any proprietary capsules. It draws 1500W during operation and comes backed by a two-year warranty. In terms of physical dimensions, the unit measures 433 mm wide, 246 mm deep, and 371 mm tall, with a total volume of 39518.178 cm³ and a weight of 7500 g.
The machine is built around a single group head and features an integrated burr grinder, eliminating the need for a separate grinding device. It includes a touch screen display and an integrated milk frother, while cup clearance is adjustable to fit different vessel heights. There is no pressure gauge, steam wand, E61 group head, cup warmer, or rotary vane pump, and the portafilter is not a 58mm design.
The machine uses a removable, transparent 1.7-litre water tank with an integrated filter, making it straightforward to monitor and refill water levels. It does not support a direct plumbing connection, nor does it include a PID controller or a dedicated hot water outlet.
The machine includes several practical maintenance features: a sleep mode to reduce energy use during idle periods, a cleaning alert to prompt timely upkeep, and a drip tray indicator that notifies the user when emptying is needed. Overheating protection is also built in. However, neither automatic coffee circuit rinsing nor automatic milk circuit cleaning is available, meaning those procedures require manual attention.
The machine supports four drink options and offers 12 grind settings, allowing for some adjustment in grind coarseness. A pre-infusion function and a shot timer are both included. Wi-Fi connectivity and smartphone remote control are supported, while brewing and steaming at the same time is not possible.
