The Philips TAX4910 is a substantial speaker, measuring 624 mm in height, 265 mm in width, and 281 mm in thickness, with a total volume of 46466.16 cm³ and a weight of 6400 g. It houses two drivers and includes RGB lighting, adding a visual element to its physical presence. The unit features a control panel placed directly on the device along with a remote control for convenient operation, and comes with a detachable cable. It does not offer water resistance, a touch screen, a neodymium magnet, or an included travel bag, and it is not a neckband-style speaker. The product is covered by a 1-year warranty.
The TAX4910 delivers a total audio output of 2 x 60W across its two channels, operating at an impedance of 4 Ohms. It does not include a subwoofer, passive radiator, or stereo speakers, and there is no magnetic shielding present. The unit has no built-in microphones, so neither a standard nor a noise-canceling mic is available.
The TAX4910 is powered by a 6000 mAh rechargeable and removable battery, offering up to 10 hours of playback on a full charge. Charging takes approximately 9 hours, and a battery level indicator is included so the remaining charge can be monitored at a glance. Wireless charging is not supported.
The TAX4910 connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 m, and also accepts a wired connection through an AUX input. It includes one USB port and an external memory slot, as well as a microphone input. NFC pairing, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and DLNA are not supported, nor is there a 3.5 mm headset socket or a 3.5 mm male connector. On the codec side, none of the advanced Bluetooth audio formats are available — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, aptX Low Latency, LDAC, and AAC are all absent — and the unit does not support AirPlay, Chromecast, Auracast, or Bluetooth LE Audio. The USB port is not of the Type-C variety.
The TAX4910 can be used wirelessly and supports smartphone remote control, allowing playback to be managed from a connected device. Voice prompts are included to provide audio feedback during use. Fast pairing, voice commands, and a mute function are not available, and the unit does not have a built-in radio or the ability to act as a power bank.
The TAX4910 supports stereo pairing, allowing two compatible units to be paired together for stereo sound reproduction.
