The ASRock B850M Riptide WiFi is built around the AM5 socket with B850 chipset compatibility, housed in a Micro-ATX form factor measuring 244 mm × 244 mm. It supports a single CPU and has no integrated CPU or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity covers a broad range, spanning Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), paired with Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX audio is not supported. The board features HDMI 2.1 output, RGB lighting, and a dual BIOS for recovery flexibility, and while overclocking is supported, there is no dedicated easy CMOS reset button. A three-year warranty is included.
This board uses DDR5 memory across four slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum supported capacity of 256GB. Overclocked speeds can reach up to 8000 MHz, offering headroom for performance-focused memory kits. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O panel provides a varied USB selection, including one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, and four USB 2.0 ports; there are no USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 4, Thunderbolt, or PS/2 ports. Display output is handled by an HDMI port and one DisplayPort, with no DVI or VGA connectors present. Networking is covered by a single RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA ports included.
Internal connectivity is well-stocked, with three M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors for storage — no SATA 2, U.2, or mSATA connectors are present. Expansion headers include four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and four USB 2.0 ports available through internal headers, along with four additional USB 3.0 expansion ports. Cooling is managed through five fan headers, and a TPM connector is also included for security module support.
The board offers a single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot as the primary expansion option, suitable for a full-bandwidth discrete graphics card or similar add-in card. A secondary PCIe x4 slot is also available for additional expansion. There are no PCIe 4.0, 3.0, 2.0, x1, x8, or legacy PCI slots on this board.
The onboard audio supports 7.1-channel output and delivers a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB, with three analog audio connectors available on the rear panel. There is no S/PDIF output port included.
The board supports RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 configurations for flexible storage setup across redundancy and performance use cases. RAID 5 and RAID 0+1 are not supported.
