The ASRock B860M-X is built around the LGA 1851 socket and is compatible with the B860 chipset, housed in a Micro-ATX form factor measuring 244 mm × 218 mm. It supports easy overclocking and features a dual BIOS for added resilience, though it does not include a dedicated clear CMOS button. The board ships without Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RGB lighting, or integrated graphics, and it does not carry an integrated CPU. Video output is handled through an HDMI 2.1 port, and the board is backed by a three-year warranty.
The board accommodates DDR5 memory across two slots in a dual-channel configuration, supporting a maximum capacity of 128 GB. Standard RAM operation tops out at 6400 MHz, while overclocked profiles can push speeds up to 9066 MHz. ECC memory is not supported on this board.
The rear I/O panel provides three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 ports for standard peripheral connectivity, along with one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port as the fastest USB output on the board. There are no USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, USB 4, Thunderbolt, eSATA, or PS/2 ports present. Display output is covered by an HDMI port and one DisplayPort output, while VGA and DVI outputs are absent. Wired networking is handled through a single RJ45 port.
Internal connectivity includes two M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors for storage, with no SATA 2, mSATA, or U.2 sockets available. USB expansion headers consist of two USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectors, two additional USB 3.0 connectors, and four USB 2.0 expansion ports for front-panel or bracket use. The board also features five fan headers for cooling management and includes a TPM connector for security module support.
The board offers three expansion slots in total: one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for the primary graphics card or high-bandwidth add-in card, one PCIe x4 slot, and one PCIe x1 slot for smaller expansion cards. There are no PCIe 5.0, PCIe 3.0, PCIe 2.0, PCIe x8, or legacy PCI slots present.
Audio support covers 7.1-channel output through three analog audio connectors on the rear panel. There is no S/PDIF Out port available on this board.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 configurations, covering a range of performance and redundancy setups. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
