The Baseus BD1 adopts a true wireless, in-ear design with no cables or neckband, keeping things minimal and unobtrusive during use. Each earbud weighs just 7.6 g and delivers stereo audio without wingtips, RGB lighting, a UV light, or a display. Protection is handled by an IP55 rating, meaning the earbuds hold up against dust ingress and water splashes, making them reasonably resilient for daily outdoor use.
The Baseus BD1 uses an 8.6 mm driver unit and covers a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, with passive noise reduction helping to block out ambient sound during listening. There is no active noise cancellation, and the earbuds do not support spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, or Dirac Virtuo. The driver also does not use a neodymium magnet.
The Baseus BD1 offers 8 hours of battery life per charge, with the charging case extending total playback to 27 hours. The rechargeable battery fully charges in 1.5 hours, and fast charging is supported for quicker top-ups. A battery level indicator keeps users informed of remaining power, though wireless charging and solar charging are not available.
The Baseus BD1 connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4, covering a maximum range of 10 m and delivering an audio latency of 60 ms. USB Type-C is present for wired charging, though the earbuds do not support fast pairing or NFC pairing. On the codec side, LDAC, LDHC, AAC, and the full aptX family — including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and aptX Voice — are all absent, and the earbuds do not support Bluetooth LE Audio or Auracast.
The Baseus BD1 includes a practical set of everyday features, among them a find device function, a mute option, voice prompts, and the ability to operate as a headset for calls. Controls are handled via a panel placed on the device itself rather than an in-line control, and fast charging is supported for convenient power top-ups. A travel bag is included in the box, which is a handy addition for portability. The earbuds do not offer ambient sound mode, in-ear detection for auto-pausing, notification reading, a body temperature sensor, or a built-in camera remote.
The Baseus BD1 is equipped with a noise-canceling microphone, which helps reduce background noise during calls or voice use.
