The CMF Buds 2 adopt a true wireless in-ear fit, with no cables, neckband, or wingtips involved in the design. Each earbud weighs 9 g and carries an IP55 rating, meaning they are protected against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction. Stereo speakers are present, while the design omits RGB lighting, a display, and UV light functionality.
The CMF Buds 2 handle noise reduction on two fronts, combining active noise cancellation (ANC) with passive noise isolation. Audio is driven by an 11 mm driver unit covering a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, and spatial audio is supported. Dolby Atmos, Dirac Virtuo, and a neodymium magnet are not part of the specification.
The CMF Buds 2 earbuds carry a 53 mAh rechargeable battery that delivers 13.5 hours of playback per charge, though this drops to 7.5 hours when ANC is active. The accompanying charging case holds 460 mAh, extending total available listening time to 41.5 hours. A full charge takes 1.5 hours, and a battery level indicator is included to keep track of remaining power. Wireless charging and solar power are not supported.
The CMF Buds 2 connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4 with a maximum range of 10 m, and support fast pairing for a quicker setup experience. AAC is the supported audio codec, while LDAC, LDHC, and the full aptX family — including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and aptX Voice — are absent. Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast are likewise not included, and NFC pairing is not supported. The charging case uses USB Type-C for wired charging.
The CMF Buds 2 include a practical set of features for daily use, among them ambient sound mode, in-ear detection for automatic playback pausing, a find-device function, and a mute option. Multipoint connectivity supports simultaneous pairing with two devices, and the earbuds can function as a headset with a device-mounted control panel and voice prompts. Fast charging is supported, and a travel bag is included in the box. On the other hand, the earbuds do not offer notification reading, a built-in translator, an in-line control panel, a body temperature sensor, or a camera remote shutter function.
The CMF Buds 2 are equipped with a six-microphone array that includes noise-canceling capability, aimed at reducing background interference during calls and voice interactions.
