Doogee V Max S

The Doogee V Max S features a rugged build with an IP68 waterproof rating, making it resistant to water and dust ingress. It measures 178.5 mm in height, 83.1 mm in width, and 26.3 mm in thickness, with a total volume of approximately 390.12 cm³ and a weight of 536 g. The device does not fold. One of its more notable design characteristics is its wide operating temperature range, rated for use in conditions as low as -55 °C and as high as 70 °C, reflecting its suitability for harsh environments.

The Doogee V Max S uses an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 6.58″ with a resolution of 1080 x 2408 px and a pixel density of 401 ppi. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen.

The Doogee V Max S is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an 8-thread CPU running at 2 x 2.6 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support, and a TDP of 5W. It comes with 8 GB of DDR5 RAM operating at 3200 MHz across 4 memory channels, supporting a maximum of 16 GB, alongside 256 GB of internal storage expandable up to 2000 GB externally. Graphics are handled by the Mali G68 MP4 with 4 execution units, 64 shading units, a clock speed of 950 MHz, and a turbo of 900 MHz, with support for DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The chipset also features integrated LTE, integrated graphics, 64-bit support, NX bit, TrustZone, and multithreading. In Geekbench 6, the device scores 936 in single-core and 2257 in multi-core testing, with an L3 cache of 2 MB rounding out the platform.

The Doogee V Max S features a triple rear camera system with sensors at 108 MP, 20 MP, and 2 MP, paired with apertures of f/1.9, f/1.8, and f/2.4 respectively, using a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination. The main camera supports video recording at 2160p at 30 fps, along with slow-motion video, timelapse, panorama, HDR mode, burst mode, continuous autofocus during recording, phase-detection autofocus, and touch autofocus. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed, laser autofocus, RAW capture, 360° panorama, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D recording are not available. Flash is provided by a single dual-tone LED, while RGB flash is not included. The front camera offers a 16 MP sensor at f/1.8 as a single-lens setup without an under-display placement or front-facing flash.

The Doogee V Max S runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera and microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. On the customization side, it supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, and customizable notifications, while focus modes and app offloading are absent. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, Live Text, a media picker, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they download. The OS also supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, phone tracking, multi-user accounts, a child lock, battery health check, and an extra dim mode. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided, and Quick Start and Wi-Fi password sharing are not supported.

The Doogee V Max S houses a 22000 mAh rechargeable battery with a built-in level indicator. It supports 33W fast charging, though wireless charging is not available and a charger is not included in the box. The battery is non-removable.

The Doogee V Max S features stereo speakers and an integrated radio, but does not include a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Bluetooth audio codec support is limited, with no aptX, aptX HD, or aptX Adaptive available.

The Doogee V Max S supports 5G connectivity with a cellular module, dual SIM capability, and Wi-Fi across three standards — Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5, and Wi-Fi 6 — with download speeds up to 2770 Mbits/s and upload speeds up to 1250 Mbits/s. Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC are both present, while DLNA certification, ANT+ support, and HDMI output are not available. The device uses a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0 and includes an external memory slot. Location is handled via GPS with Galileo support, and onboard sensors include a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, though a barometer, heart rate monitor, infrared sensor, and motion or optical tracking are absent. Security options cover a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not featured. Emergency SOS via satellite, crash detection, and a built-in projector are also not included, and no stylus comes with the device.

The Doogee V Max S includes a video light for recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
