The Honor X9d 5G features a 6.79″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1200 x 2640 px and a pixel density of 427 ppi, delivering sharp visuals at a 120Hz refresh rate and a typical brightness of 800 nits. The display is protected by branded damage-resistant glass and supports Always-On Display, though it does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen.

The Honor X9d 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4 nm semiconductor process with an 8-thread CPU configuration running at speeds of 1 x 2.3, 3 x 2.2, and 4 x 1.8 GHz using big.LITTLE technology, and a TDP of 7W. Graphics are handled by the integrated Adreno 810 GPU clocked at 800 MHz, with support for DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The device comes with 12GB of DDR5 RAM at 2750 MHz and 512GB of internal storage, with a maximum supported memory amount of 16GB and a peak memory bandwidth of 12 GB/s. Additional hardware features include integrated LTE on the SoC, 64-bit support, and ARM TrustZone security.

The Honor X9d 5G sports a dual-lens rear camera system led by a 108 MP main sensor paired with a 5 MP lens, using a CMOS sensor and optical image stabilization, though it lacks a back-illuminated sensor. Additional capabilities include on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text selection in images, full-page screenshots, a media picker, battery health check, extra dim mode, app offloading, child lock, and device tracking, though Quick Start and the ability to function as a PC are not supported. OS updates are not delivered directly from the vendor.

The Honor X9d 5G houses a large 8300 mAh rechargeable battery with a battery level indicator and supports 66W fast wired charging, with a charger included in the box. The battery is not removable, and neither wireless charging nor reverse wireless charging is available.

The Honor X9d 5G features stereo speakers and supports a strong range of Bluetooth audio codecs, including aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive, though aptX Lossless and LDAC are not available. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack and no built-in radio.
