It does not feature a rugged build, but it does carry an IP68 Ingress Protection rating, classifying it as waterproof and offering a meaningful degree of protection against water ingress in everyday conditions.

The Huawei Pura 80 features a 6.6″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1256 x 2760 px and a pixel density of 459 ppi, backed by a typical brightness of 2500 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth on-screen motion. The touch sampling rate reaches 300Hz, and the display supports an Always-On mode along with branded damage-resistant glass. It does not have a secondary screen, and it does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision.

The Huawei Pura 80 is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9010 chipset, built on a 7 nm process with a CPU configuration of 1 x 2.3, 4 x 2.18, and 3 x 1.55 GHz cores and a turbo clock speed of 3.3 GHz, supported by big.LITTLE technology and a 6W thermal design power. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali-G57 GPU, which supports DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 44 GB/s. The device includes 12 GB of RAM running at 2750 MHz and 1024 GB of internal storage, while cache is structured across 64 KB of L1, 0.512 MB of L2 at 0.256 MB per core, and 4 MB of L3 at 2 MB per core. Additional platform features include integrated LTE, 64-bit support, ARM TrustZone security, and a turbo clock of 3.3 GHz, though ECC memory is not supported.

The Huawei Pura 80 features a multi-lens rear camera system combining 50 MP, 13 MP, and 12 MP sensors with respective apertures of f/1.4, f/2.2, and f/3.4, supported by optical image stabilization, a 5x optical zoom, and a dual-tone LED flash with two LEDs. The Huawei Pura 80 includes a range of software-level features covering both usability and privacy, with support for dark mode, theme customization, customizable notifications, widgets, voice commands, and sharing intents. It operates as a multi-user system and offers split-screen multitasking, a child lock, device tracking, and a battery health check tool. Camera and microphone privacy options are also available. However, the device does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor, does not support AirPlay, and cannot be used as a PC.

The Huawei Pura 80 is equipped with a 5600 mAh rechargeable battery that is not removable but comes with a charger included in the box. Wired fast charging is supported at 66W, while wireless charging runs at 50W, and reverse wireless charging is also available at 7.5W for topping up other devices. A battery level indicator is built in, giving users a clear read on remaining charge at a glance.

The Huawei Pura 80 features stereo speakers and supports LDAC for high-quality wireless audio transmission over Bluetooth, though it does not include aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, or aptX Lossless. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack and no built-in radio.

The Huawei Pura 80 supports 5G connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with wireless networking covering Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, and 7 standards. Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC are both present, and the device connects via a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0, though there is no HDMI output, no external memory slot, and no DLNA certification. For location and navigation, it includes GPS, Galileo, a compass, a gyroscope, and an accelerometer, and it also features an infrared sensor and a fingerprint scanner. Emergency SOS via satellite is supported, while crash detection, a barometer, a heart rate monitor, ANT+, 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, a stylus, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are all absent.

The Huawei Pura 80 includes a video light for use during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
