The Razer BlackShark V3 uses an over-ear fit and a closed-back design, which helps with passive sound isolation during extended sessions. It weighs 270g and does not support folding, making it better suited for desk use than travel. The headset includes stereo speakers and comes with a detachable, tangle-free cable, adding convenience when switching between wired and wireless modes. RGB lighting is not featured on this model.
The BlackShark V3 is equipped with two 50mm neodymium magnet drivers that cover a frequency range of 12Hz to 28,000Hz, paired with a sound pressure level of 106dB/mW and an impedance of 32 Ohms. The headset supports virtual surround sound and spatial audio, broadening the perceived soundstage during use. It provides passive noise reduction to help block out ambient sound, though it does not include active noise cancellation (ANC).
The BlackShark V3 features a single removable, noise-canceling microphone with a frequency response spanning 60Hz to 16,000Hz and a sensitivity of -42dBV/Pa. Being detachable, it can be removed when not needed, and a built-in mute function allows quick silencing without adjusting software settings.
The BlackShark V3 runs on a built-in rechargeable battery rated for 70 hours of use per charge, with a full recharge taking approximately 4 hours. A battery level indicator lets users keep track of remaining charge, though the battery is not removable and cannot be swapped out.
The BlackShark V3 supports three connection modes — 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB — and is compatible with PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. The headset uses USB Type-C for wired and charging connections, and Bluetooth range reaches up to 10 meters. None of the advanced Bluetooth audio codecs are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, LDAC, LDHC, or AAC, and the headset does not offer NFC pairing or fast pairing functionality.
The BlackShark V3 can be used as a headset and includes an on-device control panel for adjusting settings directly on the headset, though it does not feature an in-line control panel on the cable. There is no vibration function. A travel bag is included in the box, and the headset is backed by a 2-year warranty.
