The Vivo Y31 Pro 5G features a 6.72″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a 1080 x 2408 px resolution and a pixel density of 393 ppi, delivering a sharp and detailed image across its large panel. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion, and the display is protected by branded damage-resistant glass. The screen does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen.

The Vivo Y31 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, built on a 4 nm process with 6,200 million transistors and an octa-core CPU configuration running at 4 x 2.5 GHz and 4 x 2 GHz across 8 threads using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support. The SoC integrates an LTE modem, a Mali G615 MC2 GPU clocked at 1047 MHz with DirectX 12 support, and handles a single display output. The device comes with 8GB of DDR5 RAM at 6400 MHz — expandable up to 16GB — alongside 256GB of internal storage and support for external memory cards up to 2048GB. In Geekbench 6 testing, the chipset scores 1026 in the single-core test and 2932 in the multi-core test, and the platform fully supports 64-bit processing.

The Vivo Y31 Pro 5G sports a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 50 MP main sensor (f/1.8) and a 2 MP secondary lens (f/2.4), both using CMOS technology without a back-illuminated sensor. The main camera supports phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, continuous autofocus during video, and a range of manual controls including exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed, laser autofocus, and optical image stabilization are absent. Video recording reaches up to 2160p at 30 fps with slow-motion support, while optical zoom is not available; HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are also not supported. Additional shooting modes include burst, panorama, and timelapse, and the rear flash uses two LED units in a standard configuration without dual-tone or RGB capability. The Vivo Y31 Pro 5G runs Android 15, an open-source platform that supports multi-user operation, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, and the ability to offload apps to free up storage. Privacy features are well represented, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and app tracking blocking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not included. Personalization options extend to dynamic theming, theme customization, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while customizable notifications and notification permission controls give users flexibility over alerts. On-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, and voice commands are all supported, and the device includes phone tracking, a battery health check tool, a media picker, full-page screenshots, and Live Text functionality. Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, direct OS vendor updates, and Quick Start are not available, and the device cannot be used as a PC.

The Vivo Y31 Pro 5G is equipped with a 6500 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 44W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. The battery level can be monitored through a built-in indicator, but the battery itself is not removable. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not supported.

The Vivo Y31 Pro 5G includes stereo speakers but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack, so wired headphones with a standard audio connector cannot be used directly. For wireless audio, none of the advanced Bluetooth codecs are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent. The device also does not have a built-in radio.

An infrared sensor is built in, but the device does not include a stylus, a built-in projector, DLNA certification, crash detection, or emergency SOS via satellite.
