The ASRock B860 Pro-A is built around the LGA 1851 socket and B860 chipset, housed in a standard ATX form factor measuring 305 mm wide and 244 mm tall. It features a single CPU socket and supports overclocking, while also including dual BIOS for firmware recovery, though it does not offer a dedicated clear CMOS button. The board outputs video via HDMI 2.1 but lacks integrated graphics and has no integrated CPU. Wireless connectivity is absent, as neither Wi-Fi nor Bluetooth are included, and there is no RGB lighting on the board. A three-year warranty is provided with the product.
The board supports DDR5 memory across four slots in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256GB. Standard RAM speeds top out at 5600 MHz, while overclocked profiles can reach up to 8666 MHz. ECC memory is not supported on this board.
The rear panel provides a solid range of USB connectivity, led by six USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port, while there are no USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, USB 4, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4 ports present. Display output options include an HDMI port and one DisplayPort output, with no DVI or VGA connectors available. Networking is handled by a single RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports on this board.
Internal connectivity is well-covered, with three M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors for storage, while SATA 2 and U.2 sockets are absent and there is no mSATA connector. Expansion USB headers allow for two additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports through external brackets or front-panel connections. The board also includes seven fan headers for cooling management and a TPM connector for hardware security functionality.
The board offers two full-length PCIe slots: one PCIe 5.0 x16 and one PCIe 4.0 x16, providing bandwidth options for graphics cards and other high-speed add-in cards. There are no PCIe 3.0, PCIe 2.0, PCIe x8, PCIe x4, or PCIe x1 slots, and no legacy PCI slots are present.
The board delivers 7.1-channel audio output through three analog audio connectors on the rear panel. There is no S/PDIF Out port available for digital audio passthrough.
The board supports four RAID configurations — RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 — covering a range of performance and redundancy setups. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
