The JBL Vibe Flex 2 adopt a standard earbud fit and are fully wireless, with no cables or neckband connecting the two units. Each earbud weighs just 8.24 g and houses a stereo speaker, while the absence of wingtips keeps the physical design minimal. Protection is handled by an IP54 rating, which covers resistance to sweat and light moisture exposure. The earbuds do not include RGB lighting, a UV light, or any kind of display.
The JBL Vibe Flex 2 use a 12 mm driver unit and cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, with an impedance of 16 Ohms and a sound pressure level of 95 dB/mW. The earbuds do not include active noise cancellation or passive noise reduction, and there is no neodymium magnet in the driver assembly. Audio enhancement technologies such as spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, and Dirac Virtuo are not supported.
The JBL Vibe Flex 2 offer 10 hours of battery life per charge from their 45 mAh rechargeable cells, with the 500 mAh charging case extending the total available playback to 30 hours. A full charge takes 2 hours, and a battery level indicator is included to keep track of remaining power. Wireless charging and solar charging are not supported.
The JBL Vibe Flex 2 connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 m, and fast pairing is supported for quicker initial setup. The charging case uses USB Type-C for wired charging. Advanced audio codecs including LDAC, LDHC, AAC, and the full aptX family — covering aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and aptX Voice — are not supported, and neither is Bluetooth LE Audio or Auracast. NFC pairing is also absent from the feature set.
The JBL Vibe Flex 2 include an ambient sound mode, a mute function, voice prompts, and a find device feature for locating misplaced earbuds. They support multipoint connectivity for up to two devices simultaneously and can function as a headset, with controls accessible via a control panel placed on the device itself rather than an in-line panel on a cable. Fast charging is supported, and a travel bag is included in the box. In-ear detection, notification readout, a body temperature sensor, and a camera remote shutter function are not part of the feature set.
The JBL Vibe Flex 2 feature a quad-microphone setup with built-in noise cancellation, helping to reduce background interference during calls and voice input.
