The OnePlus Nord Buds 3R feature an in-ear fit and a fully true wireless design with no cables or neckband. Tipping the scales at just 9 grams, they carry an IP55 rating, meaning they are protected against dust and water splashes from any direction. The earbuds deliver stereo sound and come without wingtips, RGB lighting, a UV light, or a display.
The Nord Buds 3R use a 12.4 mm driver and cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. They rely on passive noise reduction to limit ambient sound rather than active noise cancellation, and they support spatial audio for a more immersive listening experience. Dolby Atmos, Dirac Virtuo, and a neodymium magnet are not part of the hardware configuration.
The Nord Buds 3R are equipped with a rechargeable battery that delivers 12 hours of playback on a single charge, with the charging case adding enough capacity to bring the combined total to 32 hours. A full charge takes 2 hours, and a battery level indicator lets you keep track of remaining power. Wireless charging and solar charging are not supported.
The Nord Buds 3R connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4, with a maximum range of 10 meters and an audio latency of 47 ms. Charging is handled through a USB Type-C port, though wireless and NFC pairing are not supported. On the codec side, the earbuds do not include AAC, LDAC, LDHC, aptX in any of its variants, or Bluetooth LE Audio, and Auracast is likewise absent.
The Nord Buds 3R support multipoint connectivity for up to two devices simultaneously and include fast charging for quick top-ups. A find device feature helps locate misplaced earbuds, while a built-in translator, mute function, voice prompts, and the ability to function as a headset add practical day-to-day utility. Controls are handled through a panel placed on the device itself rather than an in-line control panel, and a travel bag is included in the box. Ambient sound mode, in/on-ear detection, notification reading, a temperature sensor, and a camera remote function are not available.
The Nord Buds 3R feature a four-microphone setup with built-in noise cancellation, helping to reduce unwanted background sound during calls and voice interactions.
