It holds a volume of 91.93 cm³ and does not feature a rugged build. On the protection front, the device carries an IP68 rating, classifying it as waterproof and capable of withstanding dust and water ingress under standardized conditions.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G features a 6.7″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 px and a pixel density of 394 ppi, delivering a sharp and vibrant visual experience. The panel runs at a 120Hz refresh rate with a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and reaches a typical brightness of 600 nits. It supports an Always-On Display mode and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, though it does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision. There is no secondary screen on this device.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, built on a 4 nm process with 6,200 million transistors and an octa-core CPU configuration running at 4 x 2.5 GHz and 4 x 2 GHz across 8 threads, using big.LITTLE architecture with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing. The SoC integrates an LTE modem, a Mali G615 MC2 GPU clocked at 1047 MHz with support for DirectX 12 and one display output, and handles graphics entirely through its integrated solution. The device comes with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM at 6400 MHz and 256 GB of internal storage, with a maximum supported memory ceiling of 16 GB. It is fully 64-bit compatible and scores 633,480 on AnTuTu, 1,026 on Geekbench 6 single-core, and 2,932 on Geekbench 6 multi-core.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G sports a dual-lens rear camera system led by a 50 MP main sensor at f/1.8 paired with a 2 MP lens at f/2.4, both using a CMOS sensor type without back-side illumination. The main camera includes optical image stabilization, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video, though laser autofocus is not present. It can record video at 2160p and 30 fps and supports slow-motion recording, but does not offer HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, panorama, and timelapse are also available; raw shooting and manual shutter speed are not supported. A single LED flash is fitted on the rear — not dual-tone or RGB — and there is no front-facing flash. The 16 MP front camera sits at f/2.4, operates as a single lens, and is not positioned under the display. Neither 3D capture nor 360-degree panorama shooting is available on this device.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G runs Android 15 and includes a solid set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. On the usability side, the software supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, extra dim mode, customizable notifications, notification permission controls, a media picker, full-page screenshots, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, a child lock, and the ability to offload apps. It also features on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text selection from images, phone tracking, and multi-user support. Games can be played while downloading, and a battery health check tool is built in. However, the device does not support Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, Quick Start, or the ability to function as a PC, and it does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 80W wired fast charging, with a charger included in the box. A battery level indicator is built in, making it straightforward to monitor charge status. Wireless charging is not supported on this device.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G features stereo speakers and supports both aptX and aptX HD for higher-quality Bluetooth audio playback, though aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless are not available. The device does not include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, nor does it have a built-in radio.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G offers a well-rounded connectivity setup, with 5G cellular support, Wi-Fi 4, 5, and 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a USB Type-C port running at USB 2.0 speeds. Motion tracking, optical tracking, ANT+ support, DLNA certification, satellite SOS, and crash detection are likewise not available, and no stylus or built-in projector is included.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G includes a video light for recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
