It carries an IP64 rating, meaning it offers protection against dust and water splashing, and is officially listed as water resistant. The device is not ruggedized and does not feature a folding form factor.

The Tecno Pova 7 4G features a 6.78″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 px and a pixel density of 396 ppi, producing a sharp and detailed image across its large panel. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. There is no secondary screen on this device.

The Tecno Pova 7 4G is driven by the MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration of 2 x 2.2 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz cores across 8 threads, utilizing big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support for efficient workload distribution. The SoC integrates an Mali G57 GPU clocked at 1000 MHz, supports DirectX 11, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, and has a thermal design power of 5W. The device comes with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 4266 MHz — with a maximum supported memory amount of 12 GB — alongside 256 GB of internal storage, and achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score of 411,000. Additional platform features include integrated LTE, integrated graphics, ARM TrustZone security, 64-bit support, and a maximum memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s.

The Tecno Pova 7 4G features a dual-lens rear camera system pairing a 108 MP and a 2 MP sensor, backed by a CMOS sensor and two flash LEDs, though it lacks a back-illuminated sensor, dual-tone flash, and RGB flash. Autofocus options include phase-detection autofocus for stills and continuous autofocus during video recording, while touch autofocus is also available; laser autofocus is not present. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not supported. The camera supports HDR mode, burst shooting, slow-motion video, timelapse, and in-camera panoramas, but does not shoot RAW files, record in HDR10 or Dolby Vision, or capture 360-degree panoramas. On the front, an 8 MP single-lens camera is available without a dedicated LED flash, and it is not positioned under the display. The system has no 3D photo or video recording capability.

The Tecno Pova 7 4G runs Android 15 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, among them clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. On the customization side, the OS supports dynamic theming, theme customization, dark mode, extra dim mode, home screen widgets, and customizable notifications, while focus modes are not present. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, Live Text, sharing intents, app offloading, and the ability to play games while they download. The system also supports multi-user accounts, a child lock, phone tracking, offline voice recognition, voice commands, on-device machine learning, and battery health checking. OS updates do not arrive directly from the vendor, and the device does not support Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, or use as a PC.

The Tecno Pova 7 4G is equipped with a 7000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 45W wired fast charging, and a battery level indicator is available to keep track of remaining charge. The battery is not removable and wireless charging is not supported.

The Tecno Pova 7 4G includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, along with a built-in radio. However, it does not support any high-resolution Bluetooth audio codecs, with aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC all absent.

The Tecno Pova 7 4G supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi, with cellular connectivity but no 5G support. It uses a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0 and offers download speeds of up to 650 MBits/s and upload speeds of up to 150 MBits/s, though there is no HDMI output. NFC is present, while DLNA certification and ANT+ support are not. For positioning, the device includes GPS with Galileo support, and onboard sensors cover a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, though a barometer is absent. A fingerprint scanner handles biometric authentication, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not available. The Tecno Pova 7 4G includes a video light for use during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, uses neither sapphire glass nor e-paper technology.
