The ASRock B850 Steel Legend WiFi uses the AM5 socket paired with the B850 chipset and comes in a standard ATX form factor, measuring 305 mm × 244 mm. It supports a single CPU and has no integrated processor or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity covers a wide range of standards from Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), and Bluetooth 5.4 is also built in, though aptX is not supported. The board outputs video via HDMI 2.1, includes RGB lighting, and features a dual BIOS for recovery purposes, though a dedicated clear CMOS button is absent. Overclocking is supported, and the board carries a three-year warranty.
The board uses DDR5 memory across four slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, supporting a maximum capacity of 256 GB. Overclocked RAM speeds can reach up to 8000 MHz, offering headroom for performance-tuned kits. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O offers a varied USB lineup, including two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, and four USB 2.0 ports; there are no USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 4, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4 ports. Video output is handled by a single HDMI port, with no DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA connectivity present. Networking is covered by one RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports on this board.
Internal connectivity is well-equipped, with four M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors for storage, while SATA 2 and U.2 sockets are absent, as is an mSATA connector. USB expansion headers include four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports for front-panel or add-in use. The board also provides six fan headers for cooling management and includes a TPM connector.
The board provides two full-length PCIe x16 slots: one running at PCIe 5.0 and one at PCIe 4.0. There are no PCIe 3.0, PCIe 2.0, PCIe x8, PCIe x4, or PCIe x1 slots, and no legacy PCI slots are present.
The onboard audio supports a 7.1-channel configuration with a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 130 dB, and two analog audio connectors are available on the rear panel. Digital audio output is covered by an S/PDIF Out port.
The board supports RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 configurations, covering common setups for both performance and redundancy. RAID 5 and RAID 0+1 are not supported.
