The Asus ROG Phone 9 FE runs Android 15, a free and open-source platform that supports multi-user operation, on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, and voice commands. Privacy controls cover clipboard warnings, location options, and camera/microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not included. App tracking can be blocked, and the OS provides customizable notifications, notification permission controls, a media picker, sharing intents, a child lock, and a battery health check. The Asus ROG Phone 9 FE houses a 5500 mAh rechargeable battery that is non-removable and comes with a battery level indicator. It supports 65W wired fast charging as well as 15W wireless charging, with a charger included in the box. Reverse wireless charging is not available on this device.

The Asus ROG Phone 9 FE includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers for wired and built-in audio output. On the wireless side, it supports aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless, covering a broad range of Bluetooth audio codec options, while LDAC is not supported.
