The Asus TUF Gaming B860-Plus WiFi is built around the LGA 1851 socket and B860 chipset, housed in a standard ATX form factor measuring 305 mm wide and 244 mm tall. It supports a single CPU and does not include an integrated CPU or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity is well covered, with Wi-Fi spanning versions 4 through 7 (802.11n up to 802.11be) alongside Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX is not supported. The board outputs video via HDMI 2.1, includes RGB lighting, and offers practical reliability features such as dual BIOS and an easy CMOS reset. Overclocking is also supported, and the board carries a 3-year warranty.
The board uses DDR5 memory across four slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, supporting a maximum capacity of 256GB. Overclocked RAM speeds can reach up to 8666 MHz, offering headroom for high-frequency memory kits. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O panel provides a varied USB lineup, including two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port. There are no USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, USB 4, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4 ports. Video output is handled by an HDMI output and one DisplayPort output, with no DVI or VGA connectors present. Networking is covered by a single RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports on the board.
For internal expansion, the board offers two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers, two USB 3.0 headers, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 header, and two USB 2.0 headers. Storage connectivity is provided by three M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors, while SATA 2, U.2, and mSATA are not available. Cooling is supported by six fan headers, and there is no TPM connector on the board.
The board includes one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for primary expansion, along with a single PCIe x1 slot. There are no PCIe 2.0, PCIe 3.0, PCIe x4, PCIe x8, or legacy PCI slots available.
The board's audio solution supports 7.1-channel output and provides five audio connectors on the rear panel. A S/PDIF output is also included for digital audio passthrough.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 (1+0) configurations, covering a range of performance and redundancy setups. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
