The Gigabyte B860 Eagle WiFi6E is built around the LGA 1851 socket and the B860 chipset, housed in a standard ATX form factor measuring 305 mm wide and 244 mm tall. It supports a single CPU and does not include an integrated CPU or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity is handled by a built-in adapter covering Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5, and Wi-Fi 6E, paired with Bluetooth 5.3, though aptX audio codec support is absent. The board features HDMI 2.1 output and supports easy overclocking, while RGB lighting and a one-press CMOS reset are not included. Reliability is bolstered by a dual BIOS configuration, and the board carries a three-year warranty.
The board supports DDR5 memory across four slots in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256GB. Native RAM speeds reach up to 6400 MHz, and overclocked profiles can push that figure to 9066 MHz. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O panel offers a reasonable spread of USB connectivity, including one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, and four USB 2.0 ports; USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 4, Thunderbolt 3, and Thunderbolt 4 are all absent. Display output is covered by one HDMI port and one DisplayPort, while VGA and DVI outputs are not present. Networking is handled by a single RJ45 port, and legacy connectivity is represented by one PS/2 port. There are no eSATA ports on this board.
Internal connectivity is well catered for, with three M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors available for storage devices; SATA 2 connectors, U.2 sockets, and mSATA are not included. USB expansion headers consist of two USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectors, two USB 3.0 connectors, and four USB 2.0 connectors, allowing for additional front-panel and bracket ports. Cooling is supported by six fan headers, and a TPM connector is present for security module integration.
The board provides one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot as its primary expansion option, suited for modern discrete graphics cards or other high-bandwidth add-in cards. Two PCIe x1 slots are also present for smaller expansion cards. There are no PCIe 4.0, 3.0, or 2.0 x16 slots, nor any PCIe x4, x8, or legacy PCI slots on this board.
The onboard audio solution supports 7.1-channel surround sound and provides three analog audio connectors on the rear I/O. An S/PDIF Out port is not included on this board.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 configurations, covering a range of performance and redundancy setups for multi-drive arrays. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
