Oppo A5x

The Oppo A5x has a conventional, non-folding form factor measuring 165.7 mm tall, 76.2 mm wide, and just 8 mm thick, with a total volume of around 101 cm³ and a weight of 193 g. A notable design highlight is its IP65 water resistance rating, meaning the device is protected against dust and low-pressure water jets, though it does not feature a rugged build intended for heavy-duty or extreme environments.

The Oppo A5x features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1604 px and a pixel density of 264 ppi, paired with a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and transitions. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, offering a degree of scratch and impact resistance. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen.

The Oppo A5x is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, a 4nm chipset with an octa-core CPU configured as four cores at 2.2 GHz and four at 1.8 GHz, supported by 8 threads, big.LITTLE architecture, and Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP). The SoC includes integrated LTE, an Adreno 710 GPU clocked at 800 MHz with 128 shading units, DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2 support. The device comes with 8GB of DDR5 RAM running at 2750 MHz across two memory channels with a maximum bandwidth of 22 GB/s, and supports up to 12GB total memory. Storage stands at 128GB via eMMC 5.1, while the cache hierarchy consists of 256 KB L1, 2 MB L2, and 2 MB L3. Benchmark results show a Geekbench 6 single-core score of 943 and a multi-core score of 2748, and the chipset operates within a 7W TDP envelope with ARM TrustZone security built in.

The Oppo A5x sports a single rear camera with a 32MP CMOS sensor, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, though it lacks optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and a back-illuminated sensor. Video capture tops out at 1080p at 30fps, with no HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording support, but slow-motion recording is available. Manual controls include exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, timelapse, and in-camera panorama round out the feature set; raw shooting and manual shutter speed are not supported. A single LED flash is present on the rear, but there is no dual-tone or RGB flash. On the front, a 5MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture handles selfies — it is a single-lens setup with no front flash and is not positioned under the display.

The Oppo A5x runs Android 15 and includes a broad set of privacy and usability features. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are absent. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, and an extra dim mode, while practical tools such as split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, and live text selection from images are all present. On-device machine learning is supported alongside offline voice recognition and voice commands. Users also benefit from customizable notifications with granular permission controls, a child lock, multi-user support, app offloading, battery health monitoring, and device tracking. Games can be played while downloading, though Quick Start, Wi-Fi password sharing, and the ability to use the phone as a PC are not available. OS updates are not delivered directly from the vendor.

The Oppo A5x is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 45W fast charging, allowing for relatively quick top-ups over a wired connection. Wireless charging is not available. A battery level indicator is present, keeping users informed of remaining charge at a glance.

The Oppo A5x features stereo speakers and supports aptX for improved Bluetooth audio quality, though higher-tier codecs such as aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are not available. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, so wired headphones require an adapter, and no FM radio is built in.

The Oppo A5x supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0, and a cellular module with download speeds up to 2900 Mbits/s and upload speeds up to 900 Mbits/s, though 5G is not supported. It uses a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0 and includes an external memory slot for expandable storage. Navigation is covered by GPS with Galileo support, and onboard sensors include an accelerometer, compass, and infrared sensor; however, a gyroscope, barometer, heart rate monitor, and motion or optical tracking are absent. Biometric security is handled by a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present. NFC, DLNA, HDMI output, ANT+, satellite SOS, crash detection, and a built-in projector are all unavailable, and no stylus is included.

The Oppo A5x includes a video light, which can be used to illuminate scenes during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, and neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel are part of the screen setup.
