The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 LTE Classic features a 1.34″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 438 x 438 px and a pixel density of 327 ppi, complemented by an always-on display mode and a sapphire glass face — though it does not use branded damage-resistant glass. The case measures 46.4 x 46.4 mm with a thickness of 10.6 mm and a volume of 22.821376 cm³, weighing 63.5 g in total. Water protection is rated at IP68 and 5 ATM, with a waterproof depth of 50 m, and the watch operates within a temperature range of 0 °C to 35 °C. The 20 mm band is user-replaceable, and the watch is not designed for children.

The watch includes a comprehensive sensor array covering heart rate monitoring, blood oxygenation tracking, and a body temperature sensor for continuous health oversight. Motion and orientation are handled by a built-in accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and barometer, while integrated GPS enables location tracking without relying on a paired device. It does not include a cadence sensor or a perspiration monitor.

The watch covers a broad range of everyday and fitness tracking, including steps, distance, pace, elevation, and automatic activity detection with exercise tagging. Sleep tracking is supported alongside detailed sleep reports, and route tracking is available for outdoor activities. For swimming, a stroke counter is built in, and calorie intake can also be logged directly. It does not support a dedicated multi-sport mode and is not designed for diving or golf.

The watch includes a cellular module with a single eSIM, allowing it to operate independently of a paired phone, and connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n), and NFC. Satellite navigation is supported through Galileo, and the watch is compatible with Android devices only — iOS is not supported. ANT+ connectivity is not available.

The watch is powered by a 445 mAh rechargeable battery with a rated lifespan of up to two days and supports wireless charging. The battery is not removable and there is no solar charging capability.

On the health monitoring side, the watch tracks HRV, resting heart rate, and VO2 max, and delivers fast and slow heart rate notifications, irregular heart rate warnings, and ECG technology, alongside a readiness and recovery indicator and fall detection. For daily use, it handles wrist notifications, call control, the ability to answer calls directly from the wrist, phone locating, voice commands, silent alarm, vibrating alerts, a stopwatch, and a built-in camera remote shutter, though a smart alarm is not included. Fast GPS lock is supported, and the watch runs on 2 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage.

The companion app is free and ad-free, and covers a wide range of tracking and wellness tools including activity reports, calorie burn, inactivity alerts, goal setting, achievements, exercise diary, food diary, water intake, weight, BMI, and temperature tracking. Personalisation options are available alongside widgets, maps, route support, voice feedback, and music playback during workouts. Women's health is addressed through period notifications and start date prediction, while coaching is also included. A barcode scanner is not supported within the app.

The watch includes a battery level indicator, auto pause, and passcode protection, and is compatible with both smart scales and external heart rate monitors. It does not support Windows or Mac OS X, has no external memory slot, and lacks a 3.5 mm audio jack.
