Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a foldable device measuring 158.4 mm in height, 143.2 mm in width, and just 4.2 mm in thickness when unfolded, with a total volume of approximately 95.27 cm³ and a weight of 215 g. It carries an IP67 rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and can withstand immersion in water under defined conditions, classifying it as waterproof for everyday use.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 features an 8″ OLED/AMOLED touch-enabled primary display with a resolution of 1968 x 2184 px at 368 ppi, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a typical brightness of 2600 nits. It supports both HDR10 and HDR10+ content, and includes an Always-On Display mode. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, though it is not classified under a generic branded damage-resistant glass designation. A secondary touch screen is also present, offering a resolution of 1080 x 2520 px, and both displays support the Always-On functionality inherent to the device's foldable design.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite system-on-chip, fabricated on a 3 nm process and configured with 8 threads across two clusters running at 2 x 4.32 GHz and 6 x 3.53 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing. The SoC integrates an Adreno 830 GPU clocked at 1100 MHz with 1536 shading units and support for DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 3, capable of driving up to 2 displays. It comes with 16GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5300 MHz across 2 memory channels, a maximum supported memory amount of 24GB, and a peak memory bandwidth of 85.1 GB/s, alongside ECC memory support. Cache configuration includes 192 KB of L1, 12 MB of L2, and 8 MB of L3 cache, and the chip carries a TDP of 8.2W with integrated LTE and TrustZone security. Internal storage stands at 1024GB, and benchmark results include an AnTuTu score of 2,771,639, a Geekbench 6 single-core result of 3,234, and a multi-core result of 10,059.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 features a multi-lens rear camera system with sensors at 200MP, 12MP, and 10MP, paired with apertures of f/1.7, f/2.2, and f/2.4 respectively, and 3x optical zoom. The main array uses CMOS and back-illuminated sensor technology, optical image stabilization, and a combination of laser, phase-detection, continuous, and touch autofocus. Video recording reaches up to 4320p at 24fps, with additional support for slow-motion capture and timelapse. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, and the camera can shoot in RAW format, capture panoramas, 360° panoramas, and burst shots. A single LED flash is present on the rear, though it is neither dual-tone nor RGB. On the front, two 10MP cameras sit behind apertures of f/1.8 and f/2.2, both embedded under the display rather than in a notch or cutout; however, the front setup uses a single-lens configuration per screen and does not include a front-facing flash.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 runs Android 15 and includes a broad set of software capabilities spanning privacy, productivity, and personalization. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera/microphone access controls, along with the ability to block app tracking; however, it does not include Mail Privacy Protection, cross-site tracking blocking, or Wi-Fi password sharing. The interface supports theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, an extra dim mode, and widgets, while productivity is aided by split-screen multitasking, picture-in-picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, customizable notifications, and the ability to function as a PC. It also supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, app offloading, a child lock, multi-user access, phone tracking, battery health monitoring, and the ability to play games during download. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not supported, and the device also lacks focus modes and a Quick Start feature.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 houses a rechargeable 4400 mAh battery with a visible battery level indicator and support for 25W wired fast charging. Wireless charging is available at 15W, and the device can also act as a wireless charger for other devices through reverse wireless charging at 4.5W. The battery is not removable.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 includes stereo speakers and supports aptX, aptX HD, and LDAC Bluetooth audio codecs, covering a broad range of wireless audio quality options. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack, and the device does not include a built-in radio.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 supports 5G connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, 6E, and 7, and accommodates one physical SIM card plus one eSIM. Bluetooth 5.4 is on board, and the device connects via USB Type-C with USB 3.2, though there is no external memory slot. Download speeds reach up to 10,000 Mbits/s with upload speeds of up to 3,500 Mbits/s. NFC is supported, while DLNA certification and ANT+ are absent. Sensors include a fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, barometer, and GPS with Galileo support. The device does not include an infrared sensor, iris scanner, 3D facial recognition, heart rate monitor, motion tracking, optical tracking, or a built-in projector, and no stylus is included.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 includes a video light for use during video recording, but does not feature a sapphire glass display or an e-paper display.
