Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G has a non-folding, non-rugged body measuring 165 mm tall, 75.4 mm wide, and 7.4 mm thick, with a total volume of 92.06 cm³ and a weight of 178 g. Despite the water resistance label listing none, the device carries an IP68 rating, indicating it can withstand submersion in water down to 1.5 metres.

The Redmi Note 15 5G features a 6.77″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2392 px at 388 ppi, backed by a contrast ratio of 8,000,000:1 and protected by branded damage-resistant glass. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate with a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and includes an Always-On Display mode for at-a-glance information without fully waking the screen. The panel does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen.

The Redmi Note 15 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, a 4 nm octa-core SoC running eight threads across two clusters clocked at 4 x 2.4 GHz and 4 x 1.8 GHz, with a TDP of 7W and support for big.LITTLE and HMP scheduling for efficient workload distribution. Graphics are handled by the integrated Adreno 710 GPU running at 800 MHz, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, with output to one display. The chip integrates LTE, NX bit, and ARM TrustZone security, while the 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM operates at 2750 MHz across two memory channels with a maximum bandwidth of 25.6 GB/s, and the 256 GB of internal storage uses eMMC 5.1.

The Redmi Note 15 5G has a dual-lens rear camera system led by a 50 MP main sensor paired with a 2 MP secondary lens, both using CMOS technology without a back-illuminated sensor. The main camera records video at up to 2160p at 30 fps with continuous autofocus during recording, and supports slow-motion video, though there is no optical image stabilization, no optical zoom, and no HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording. For stills, it offers phase-detection and touch autofocus, HDR mode, burst mode, panorama, timelapse, and a range of manual controls including ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, while manual shutter speed and RAW capture are not available. A single LED flash is present on the rear, but there is no dual-tone or RGB flash. The front camera is a single-lens 8 MP unit without an LED flash, positioned on the front of the device rather than under the display, and 3D photo or video recording is not supported.

The Redmi Note 15 5G runs Android 15, an open-source platform that supports multi-user accounts, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they download. Privacy features include clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and app tracking blocking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are absent. On the customization front, the OS offers dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, an extra dim mode, and customizable notifications, while focus modes and Wi-Fi password sharing are not available. Additional capabilities include on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, full-page scrolling screenshots, a media picker, battery health check, phone tracking, child lock, and app offloading. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not supported, and the device cannot be used as a PC or activate Quick Start.

The Redmi Note 15 5G houses a non-removable rechargeable 5800 mAh battery with a built-in level indicator, and supports wired fast charging at 45W for relatively quick top-ups. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not available on this device.

The Redmi Note 15 5G features stereo speakers and supports LDAC for high-quality wireless audio streaming over Bluetooth, though it lacks a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless codecs are not supported.

The Redmi Note 15 5G offers a broad connectivity suite, including 5G cellular support, dual SIM capability, Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.1 with download speeds of up to 2900 Mbits/s and upload speeds of up to 1600 Mbits/s. The sensor set includes a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, GPS with Galileo support, and an infrared sensor, though a barometer, heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, and motion or optical tracking are not present. DLNA certification, HDMI output, satellite emergency SOS, crash detection, a built-in projector, and a stylus are all absent from this device.

The Redmi Note 15 5G includes a curved display and a video light for illumination during video recording. The screen uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
