The Gigabyte B850M Eagle Wi-Fi6E is built around the AM5 socket and B850 chipset, housed in a compact Micro-ATX form factor measuring 244 × 244 mm. It supports a single CPU and does not include an integrated processor or integrated graphics. Wi-Fi 6E is built in, covering 802.11n, 802.11ac, and 802.11ax standards, and Bluetooth 5.3 is also included, though aptX is not supported. The board features HDMI 2.1 output, RGB lighting, and is noted as easy to overclock. It does not offer dual BIOS or a quick CMOS reset function. A three-year warranty is included.
This board uses DDR5 memory across four slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum supported capacity of 256 GB. The native RAM speed tops out at 5200 MHz, while overclocked configurations can reach up to 8200 MHz. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O panel offers a reasonable spread of USB connectivity, including one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, and four USB 2.0 ports; there are no USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 4, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4 ports. Display output is handled by one HDMI and two DisplayPort outputs, with no DVI or VGA connectors present. Networking is covered by a single RJ45 port, and legacy input device support is maintained through one PS/2 port. eSATA is not available.
Internal expansion headers include two USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectors, two additional USB 3.0 connectors, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 connector, and four USB 2.0 connectors, allowing front-panel and case USB ports to be populated without using rear I/O slots. Storage connectivity is provided through four SATA 3 connectors and two M.2 sockets; there are no SATA 2, mSATA, or U.2 sockets. The board also includes four fan headers and a TPM connector, covering both cooling management and security module support.
The board provides two expansion slots in total: one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for the primary add-in card and one PCIe x4 slot for additional expansion. There are no PCIe 2.0, 3.0, or 4.0 x16 slots, and no PCIe x1, x8, or legacy PCI slots are present.
The onboard audio solution supports 7.1-channel output and is accompanied by three analog audio connectors on the rear panel. An S/PDIF optical output is not included.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 configurations, covering a range of performance and redundancy setups. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
