The device does not feature a rugged construction beyond that certification.

The Moto G86 Power features a 6.67″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 px and a pixel density of 446 ppi, delivering a sharp and vibrant visual experience. The panel runs at a 120Hz refresh rate and supports both HDR10 and HDR10+ for enhanced contrast and color depth in compatible content. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i for scratch and impact resistance. The display does not support Dolby Vision or Always-On Display functionality, and there is no secondary screen on the device.

The Moto G86 Power is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, built on a 4 nm process with 6,200 million transistors and an octa-core CPU configuration running at 4 x 2.5 GHz and 4 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support across 8 threads. It comes with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM at 6400 MHz — expandable up to a maximum of 16 GB — alongside 512 GB of internal storage. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G615 MC2 GPU clocked at 1047 MHz, supporting DirectX 12 and a single display output. The chipset also includes integrated LTE and is fully 64-bit compatible. In benchmarks, the device scores 777,200 on AnTuTu, 1,026 on Geekbench 6 single-core, and 2,932 on Geekbench 6 multi-core, giving a clear picture of its processing capability.

The Moto G86 Power features a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 50 MP main sensor at f/1.8 and an 8 MP secondary lens at f/2.2, both using CMOS technology without a back-illuminated sensor. The main camera supports optical image stabilization, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, continuous autofocus during video, and a range of manual controls including exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available. Video recording reaches up to 2160p at 30 fps, with slow-motion capture and timelapse also supported, while HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not. The rear flash consists of a single LED unit without dual-tone or RGB capability, and there is no optical zoom. On the usability side, the OS supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, extra dim mode, customizable notifications with granular permission controls, a media picker, full-page scrolling screenshots, Live Text, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, sharing intents, widgets, and the ability to offload apps. Users also benefit from offline voice recognition, voice commands, phone tracking, a child lock, battery health monitoring, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. Features not included are focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and the ability to use the device as a PC. OS updates are not delivered directly by the vendor, meaning software updates are handled through another channel.

The Moto G86 Power is equipped with a 6720 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 30W fast charging for quicker top-ups via cable. A battery level indicator is included to keep track of remaining charge at a glance. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The Moto G86 Power includes stereo speakers for a wider audio output experience, but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack, so wired headphones require an adapter. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codec standards are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent.

The Moto G86 Power offers a broad connectivity package, headlined by 5G support alongside Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5, and Wi-Fi 6, with download and upload speeds reaching up to 3270 Mbit/s. It accommodates one physical SIM and one eSIM, and connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. The USB Type-C port runs on USB 2.0, and there is no HDMI output. For navigation and sensing, the device includes GPS with Galileo support, a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, while a barometer is not present. Security is handled by a fingerprint scanner; 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not featured. The device has an external memory slot for storage expansion.
