The Shokz OpenDots One feature an open-ear fit and a fully wireless design with no cables or neckband, and wingtips are not included. Weighing just 13 grams, the earbuds are built around stereo speakers and carry an IP54 ingress protection rating, making them resistant to sweat. They do not include RGB lighting, a display, or a UV light.
The Shokz OpenDots One cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20000 Hz and do not include active noise cancellation or passive noise reduction, meaning they leave ambient sound fully audible. Spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, and Dirac Virtuo are not supported, and the earbuds do not use a neodymium magnet in their driver configuration.
The Shokz OpenDots One are equipped with a rechargeable battery that delivers 10 hours of playback, while the charging case extends the total available power to 30 hours. A full charge takes 1 hour, and the earbuds support wireless charging alongside a battery level indicator to keep track of remaining power. Solar charging is not available.
The Shokz OpenDots One connect wirelessly with a maximum Bluetooth range of 10 meters and use USB Type-C for wired charging. Neither fast pairing nor NFC pairing is supported, and the earbuds do not include AAC, LDAC, LDHC, or any aptX variant — including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, or aptX Voice. Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast are also absent from the feature set.
The Shokz OpenDots One support multipoint connectivity for up to two devices simultaneously and can be used as a headset, with a mute function and a control panel placed directly on the device. Fast charging is available, and a find-device feature helps locate the earbuds when misplaced. Voice prompts are included for audio feedback, and a travel bag comes in the box. In-ear detection, ambient sound mode, notification readout, an in-line control panel, a body temperature sensor, and a camera remote shutter function are all absent.
The Shokz OpenDots One include a four-microphone array with noise-canceling microphone capability, making them well-suited for calls and voice communication in environments with background noise.
