The Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite WiFi7 uses the AM5 socket paired with the B850 chipset and follows the standard ATX form factor, measuring 305 mm wide by 244 mm tall. It accommodates a single CPU and does not include an integrated processor or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity is handled by a built-in adapter supporting Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) alongside Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX audio codec support is absent. The board features RGB lighting, dual BIOS for firmware redundancy, and easy overclocking, while a manual CMOS reset option is not available. It carries a three-year warranty.
The board supports DDR5 memory across four slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256GB. Standard operation runs up to 5200 MHz, while overclocking can push speeds to 8200 MHz. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O offers a broad selection of USB ports, including 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 5 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, and 4 USB 2.0 ports; there are no USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 4, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4 ports. Video output is limited to a single DisplayPort, as HDMI, DVI, and VGA connectors are absent. Networking is covered by one RJ45 port, and no eSATA or PS/2 ports are present.
Internal connectivity includes three M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors for storage, while SATA 2, mSATA, and U.2 sockets are not present. USB expansion headers cover 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port, and 4 USB 2.0 ports. The board also provides six fan headers and a TPM connector.
The board provides one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot as the primary expansion interface, complemented by two PCIe x1 slots. There are no PCIe 2.0, 3.0, or 4.0 x16 slots, and no PCIe x4, x8, or legacy PCI slots are present.
Audio output supports a 7.1-channel configuration and includes an S/PDIF Out port for digital audio passthrough. Two analog audio connectors are available on the board.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 (1+0) configurations for flexible storage setup and redundancy options. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
