The Amazfit Balance 2 features a 1.5″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a 480 x 480 px resolution and a pixel density of 323 ppi, protected by sapphire glass and supporting an always-on display mode. The case measures 47.4 x 47.4 mm with a thickness of 12.3 mm and weighs 43 g, offering a compact and relatively slim profile. It does not use branded damage-resistant glass such as Gorilla Glass, but the sapphire display provides its own level of surface protection. On the durability front, the watch carries an IP68 rating and a 10 ATM water resistance rating, with a waterproof depth of 45 m. The band width is 22 mm and is fully replaceable, giving users the option to swap it out as needed. This model is not designed for children.

The Amazfit Balance 2 includes a comprehensive sensor suite covering the essentials for both health monitoring and outdoor navigation. It tracks heart rate and blood oxygen levels continuously, and a body temperature sensor adds another layer of biometric awareness. For motion and orientation, the watch combines an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and barometer, making it well-suited for tracking movement, direction, and altitude changes. Built-in GPS enables location tracking without relying on a paired phone. The watch does not include a cadence sensor or a perspiration monitor.

The Amazfit Balance 2 covers a broad range of activity tracking capabilities suitable for everyday use and structured training alike. It records steps, distance, pace, and elevation, while also monitoring sleep and generating detailed sleep reports. Automatic activity detection identifies workouts without manual input, and exercise tagging allows users to label sessions for better organization. Route tracking is supported, making it useful for outdoor activities. The watch features multi-sport mode and extends to specialized disciplines including swimming — with a stroke counter — as well as diving and golf. Calorie intake tracking rounds out the health side, giving users a more complete picture of their daily energy balance.

The Amazfit Balance 2 is compatible with both iOS and Android devices and connects via Bluetooth 5.2 for reliable pairing with a smartphone. It also supports Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) for direct wireless connectivity, and NFC is included for contactless functionality. The watch does not have a cellular module, meaning it relies on a paired device for network-dependent features, and ANT+ is not supported.

The Amazfit Balance 2 houses a 658 mAh rechargeable battery that is neither removable nor solar-powered, and the watch does not support wireless charging. In standard use, it is rated for up to 21 days on a single charge, while training mode extends endurance to 240 hours. With GPS continuously active, battery life comes in at 33 hours, and switching to power save mode brings a runtime of 67 hours.

The Amazfit Balance 2 offers a well-rounded feature set across health monitoring, communication, and convenience. On the health side, it tracks HRV, resting heart rate, and VO2 max, and alerts users to fast or slow heart rate readings while displaying a readiness and recovery level. It does not include ECG technology, irregular heart rate warnings, or fall detection. For communication, the watch can answer calls, manage call control, deliver wrist notifications, and respond to voice commands via its single built-in microphone. Vibrating alerts and a silent alarm are both present, though a smart alarm is not. 32 GB of internal storage is available, and a fast GPS lock reduces the time needed to acquire a signal. Additional utilities include a stopwatch, a phone-finding function, and a camera remote shutter control. The watch does not have a front camera. It carries a one-year warranty.

The companion app for the Amazfit Balance 2 is available free of charge and is entirely ad-free, with support for personalisation and widgets to suit individual preferences. It covers a wide range of health and fitness tracking features, including calories burned, water intake, weight, BMI, temperature, and an exercise diary, along with a food diary for logging meals — though a barcode scanner is not available for food entry. Activity reports, goal setting, inactivity alerts, coaching, voice feedback, and achievements are all included to help users stay on track. The app also handles reproductive health through period notifications, fertile window alerts, ovulation prediction, and cycle start date forecasting. For outdoor and workout use, it supports routes, maps, and live tracking, and syncs with existing calendars for scheduling. Music playback and video tutorials are also available, rounding out a broadly capable software experience.

The Amazfit Balance 2 includes a battery level indicator, auto pause for workouts, and passcode protection for added security. It is compatible with smart scales and external heart rate monitors, expanding its ability to integrate with third-party health hardware. The watch does not support Windows or Mac OS X desktop connectivity, and there is no external memory slot or 3.5 mm audio jack.
