The Asus ROG Strix B850-A Gaming WiFi uses the AM5 socket with the B850 chipset and follows the standard ATX form factor, measuring 305 mm × 244 mm. It supports a single CPU and has no integrated processor or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity is comprehensive, covering Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) alongside Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX audio over Bluetooth is not supported. The board includes RGB lighting, a dual BIOS for added resilience, and both easy BIOS reset and overclocking-friendly design. Video output is handled via an HDMI 2.1 port, and the board does not include a VGA or DVI connection. The product comes with a 3-year warranty.
The board features four DDR5 memory slots arranged across two channels, with a maximum supported capacity of 192 GB. RAM speeds can reach up to 8000 MHz, which also represents the ceiling for overclocked configurations. ECC memory is not supported.

For USB expansion, the board offers two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers, two additional USB 3.0 headers, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 header, and four USB 2.0 headers. Cooling is supported through six fan headers. There is no TPM connector on this board.
The board provides two full-length PCIe slots: one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot. There are no PCIe 3.0, PCIe 2.0, PCIe x8, PCIe x4, PCIe x1, or legacy PCI slots available.
The onboard audio supports 7.1-channel output and delivers a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB. Two analog audio connectors are provided on the rear panel, and a S/PDIF Out port is available for digital audio passthrough.
The board supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10 (1+0) configurations, covering a range of performance and redundancy setups. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
